An ultra-low power, multi-band platform designed for global geolocation and asset tracking applications, including Internet of Things (IoT) applications with direct satellite connectivity in supply chain management and logistics.

  • Asset Management Platform LoRa Edge™ LR1110
On the basis of the platform are combined
  • A LoRa transceiver.
  • Long-range FHSS modulator.
  • Multi-constellation scanner.
  • Passive Wi-Fi AP MAC address scanner 802.11b/g/n.
How it works
  • In the GNSS scanning mode, the received signals pass through external matching circuits designed for GPS or BeiDou frequencies and are fed to the LNA LF1 input amplifier. The received data is transmitted via the LoRaWAN® network to the server and then to the cloud storage, where the latitude, longitude and altitude of the given module are determined.
  • With Wi-Fi geolocation, the transceiver passively scans the surrounding area, trying to find access points of the 802.11b/g/n standard. The MAC addresses and power levels of the received signals from the discovered devices are recorded in a data packet sent to the location server.

Application

The platform is designed for international logistics companies with applications such as cross-regional asset tracking, inventory management, asset loss and theft prevention, and intercontinental logistics. Satellite communications also make it suitable for infrastructure monitoring, agriculture and environmental monitoring, which require deployment in remote areas.

Platform advantages:

  • ultra-low power consumption compared to similar solutions from other manufacturers: in sleep mode, the transceiver consumes no more than 2 mA, with a connected GNSS node about 6 mA, and with a Wi-Fi module up to 12 mA (at a nominal supply voltage of 3.6 V).
  • Semtech LoRa Cloud geolocation navigation chip enables asset location via cloud solution.
  • low power, high sensitivity LoRa/(G)FSK transceiver uses 150-960 MHz ISM frequency band supported worldwide.
  • two amplifiers are available in the transmission path, providing output power up to +15 dBm and up to +22 dBm.
  • receiver sensitivity reaches -144 dBm, LoRaWAN® network input signals are fed to a LNA LF0 low-noise amplifier.
  • all certified LoRa devices are compatible with each other; base stations and sensors from different manufacturers can simultaneously operate on the same platform. Full compatibility with SX1261/2/8 devices and the LoRaWAN® standard defined by the LoRa Alliance.
  • multipurpose radio interface for geolocation purposes.
  • cryptographic engine protects sensitive information such as encryption keys from unauthorized access.
  • hardware support for AES-128 encryption/decryption algorithms.
  • baseband digital processing.

SX1303 - LoRa Core™ Digital Baseband Chip for Gateways Based on the LoRaWAN® Protocol

The new SX1303 is the latest generation chip capable of simultaneously detecting and demodulating data from multiple nodes. This multichannel concentrator forms the basis of base stations in LoRaWAN® networks with a high density of subscriber devices. It provides network-centric geolocation of LoRa devices without enabling GPS hardware on each individual end node.

The operation of the device is based on precise timestamping capabilities, which provides accurate time of arrival information for each demodulated message and allows gateways to perform network-centric geolocation based on Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA).

New SX1303 LoRa Core chip:
  • allows you to transfer more traffic with less consumption.
  • simplifies the thermal design of gateways.
  • reduces material costs.
  • reduces the overall size of gateways.
  • new Fine Timestamp feature provides network geolocation based on time difference of arrival (TDOA).
Chip Features:
  • The fine timestamp is the nanosecond resolution value related to the PPS (pulse per second) signal.
  • Unique 64-bit serial number for identification and security.
  • Geolocation accuracy is 75–150 m, depending on related factors.
  • Compatible with LoRa Core SX1302.
  • Up to -141dBm sensitivity with SX1250 Tx/Rx front-end.
  • 125kHz LoRa reception with.
  • 125kHz LoRa reception with:
    • 8 x 8 channels LoRa packet detectors.
    • 8 x SF5-SF12 LoRa demodulators.
    • 8 x SF5-SF10 LoRa demodulators.
    • Up to 8 packets can be received simultaneously when Fine Timestamp is enabled.
  • 125/250/500kHz LoRa demodulator.
  • (G)FSK demodulator.
  • Direct interface to Semtech SX1255, SX1257 and SX1250 transceivers.
  • Single 32MHz clock.
